Free Public Defense

Even though our clients are indigent, they are expected to pay for our constitutionally guaranteed services. There’s no reason to demand payment from our clients. Our services should be free.

Caseload

---

Public defender caseload is too high, and we can push to fix this regardless of whether Act 10 is overturned. We will work directly with the legislature as well as with administration to address this issue.

Non-Attorney Staff Pay

---

Non-attorney staff simply isn’t paid enough for their absolutely critical and challenging work. Wages must be raised and non-attorney staff should be eligible for merit adjustments as attorneys are.
